Intensive project teaming up with programmer, Steve Williams to create a database-driven website powered by Django launched on 7/17/09. Multiple unique page layouts for main and sub pages, custom slideshow images for each artist and on the Exhibition page, close to 60 banner graphics for each represented winery. My role was front-end design and XHTML and CSS production. Branding taken from print catalog design. This site will power the program for years to come making it easier for the non-profit to manage page and artist data. This was my first introduction to Django and highly recommend it for ease of use and flexibility. Other features are email list management, and printer-friendly pages. Non-Profit Land Preservation

Launched on 7/19/09 is a site for the preservation of lands in Napa County. Worked from PDF layouts from Graphic Designer and translated into a working website in XHTML and CSS with printer-friendly pages and indexable HTML content. [30 pages/ fixed layout]

Rolled out a demo for the Napa Valley Master Arts & Culture Calendar allowing the ability for the public to place dynamic calendars on their websites. Detailed project included the organization of content, copy writing, creating branding terms, calendar software management, examples and special calendar customization for three local organizations. Launched on February 6, 2009, is a site for Richard Von Saal — an artist who creates “functional” art from salvaged materials and a Property Designer. Site is coded in XHTML and tableless CSS with a customized DHTML menu. Site includes customized CSS for image thumbnails and large images, multiple slideshows and email encryption. This site was redesigned and launched January 16, 2009 and converted from static HTML to a content management website powered by WordPress. With the conversion, was a dedicated domain, and big boost in content from the Council office. Site was coded in Strict XHTML, tableless CSS and customized DHTML menu. Fun points include digital photo collage of 71 slides for the slide show header and favicon. Other projects include developing the online application process and the installation of Form Captcha. On the third redesign, these websites are promoting the popular Blues and Reggae E-Newsletters, Blues Festival E-Guide and Reggae Festival E-Guide - both with a 16K subscriber base and constantly growing. Sites were coded in Strict XHTML, tableless CSS and customized DHTML menu. The E-Newsletters are powered by myNewsletterBuilder. Side projects include the initial development of the first sister E-Newsletter Reggae Festival E-Guide in 2004 for which the Blues was introduced 2 years later. I (Kristine) was the initial designer and publisher of the Reggae E-Guide, and the print magazine Publisher took it on in 2006, and also created the Blues version as well. With the creation of the E-Newsletters was feature and content development and logo design. [10 pages / Fixed Layout]

Took on project in 2008 with maintenance work, and 2nd redesign launched on the 2nd of January ‘09 with plans for a major redesign in the future. Site was originally coded in XHTML and tableless CSS by original creators, and continued with my maintenance and redesign work. Special projects include converting the site from fixed to liquid layout and special photo manipulation work with a repeat trees background in the header with the liquid conversion; also Favicon design and Google submission.

With the conversion, the client is thrilled with the interactive nature of the blog as visitors can post comments to articles. Launched on August 29th, 2008 this site is coded in tableless XHTML, DHTML menu, and CSS 3 with the new transparency technique applied. Applications implemented include Express Email Marketing and WordPress Blog with visual customization. Special coding includes customized DHTML menu, printable Directions, Specials and Events. Scripts include streaming calendar content from Napa’s master arts calendar, fading slideshow, encrypted email and website bookmarking. Unique graphics include a custom map on the Directions page and favicon. Also shot photography on-site and developed content. Site is designed with scalability in mind for future growth, possible ecommerce and clean code for the ability for in-house maintenance. Art and colors inspired by their current business cards.
